Saving the Bees
Hive & Harvest is dedicated to saving the bees!
Our mission is to do that through educating beekeepers as well as the general public. The United States looses approximately 50% of our bees every single year. This is something we need to address as a nation, but also as keepers of the bees. We need to be the best stewards over our bees that we can. When we have better and more informed beekeepers, more bees will survive yearly. For years, we have provided bee classes and education to help new beekeepers become better at successfully caring for their colonies.
We are also strong believers in Apitherapy and the incredible medicinal products that come from a hive. To this end, we participate in UTSA’s Honey Pathways program yearly. (See below for proof of participation.) We believe that by proving that the bees save us, we will be saving them, as the public will realize their significance and utilize hive products medicinally.

Partnering with Science to Protect Our Pollinators:
At Hive & Harvest, we’re not just passionate about bees—we’re actively working to protect and preserve them. One way we do this is by participating in UTSA’s HONEY Pathways program, a groundbreaking research initiative that studies the medicinal properties of honey.
Our involvement in this program allows us to contribute to crucial scientific research that explores how honey can be used as a natural remedy, while also supporting the health and sustainability of bee populations. By supporting us, you’re directly contributing to this important work, helping to ensure a brighter future for our buzzing friends.
Supporting Bees and People: Mentorship Through Hives for Heroes
At Hive & Harvest, our commitment to making a positive impact extends beyond just protecting our pollinators. We proudly serve as mentors in the Hives for Heroes program, an initiative dedicated to supporting veterans in their journey of healing from PTSD through beekeeping.
By providing guidance and sharing our passion for beekeeping, we help veterans find a sense of purpose, peace, and community as they learn to care for bees. This program not only aids in their recovery but also strengthens the bond between people and pollinators, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the vital role bees play in our world.
When you support Hive & Harvest, you’re not just helping bees—you’re also helping people. Your support enables us to continue this important work, providing veterans with the tools and knowledge they need to heal and thrive through the therapeutic power of beekeeping.
